St. Patty's' Day Table

Good afternoon everyone.  Hope you are having beautiful days full sunshine and four leaf clovers.

I thought this year for St. Patricks Day we would have dessert on the porch after lunch if the weather permits.  It has been nice here, in the upper 60's, so time to bring out the ice cream.  I'm going to serve lime sherbert with mint chocolates.

A little trivia for you all, St. Patricks Day is a religious holiday named for St. Patrick who was the patron St. of Ireland.  For Christians, the day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.  The day generally involves public parades and festivals, and wearing of green attire or shamrocks. Christians also attend church services and the Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol are lifted for the day.
Saint Patrick's Day
St. Patrick depicted in a stained glass window at St. Benin's Church, Ireland.   This is the information I was able to get off of wikipedia.

I have shamrocks growing in my yard so I dug a few up and planted them in these cute green candle holders.  I also used colored scrapbook paper as my placemats.

Mr. Bunny in my kitchen also got in on the fun.  lol.  I hope you have a lucky St. Patty's Day.  And remember, the restrictions are lifted for the day so have fun.

  1. Hi there, Susan! I'm visiting your blog for the first time through Susan's Tablescape Thursday! Not only do I love the color combination (I LOVE black and green together!) you have for this table, but your wry sense of humor with the pig displaying his luck in not being a cow turned into corned beef!!! That is hilarious!!! He is totally wearing that shamrock for continued good luck!!! Your bunny is just kicking back and enjoying it all! :-) Have a happy and safe St. Patrick's Day!!!
